Soprano, Cathleen Matzureff, an experienced performer, recently graduated from the West Virginia University School of Music where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Music. Mrs. Matzureff  has 15 years of vocal training, as she started studying at 8 years old. While at WVU, Mrs. Matzureff studied under soprano Dr. Hope Koehler, and mezzo-soprano Jennifer Berkebile. She has also studied under soprano Brooke Evers-Moore, soprano Dr. Barbara Stenger, and tenor Dr. Robert Tudor. Most recently, Mrs. Matzureff apprenticed under soprano Laura Knoop Very, who has appeared with the Metropolitan Opera in New York City.
Not limited to classical music, Mrs. Matzureff was the consecutive Jefferson Idol Winner for 2008-2009. She has also performed with the West Virginia University Chamber Singers, Shepherd University Chambers Singers, Shepherd University Women’s Camerata, as well as the Shepherd University Opera Workshop where she performed the leading role of Euridice in Christoph Willibald Gluck’s French opera, Orfeo ed Euridice. Her vocal knowledge and experience has led her to the Ellsworth School of Music.
